Q: How much does it cost to participate in United Music Academy?

A: For the 2016 winter/spring season, the cost is $145. This can be broken down into payments of $29/month if needed. We also have need-based scholarships available. We want every child to be able to participate regardless of cost.

Q:  I see that you meet at United Lutheran Church. Is this a church choir? Do you sing religious music?

A: No, this is not a church choir. United Music Academy is hosted and supported by United Lutheran Church with the goal of making high-quality, low-cost music classes accessible to children in the community. We sign folk, world, and sacred/classical music in various languages, especially Spanish.

Q: What age does my child have to be to join?

A: Our program is open to children between the ages of 4 and 14. Children who are turning 4 during the season may be admitted as space allows and with instructor permission.

Q: Does my child need to have a musical background to join the choir?

A: No, UMA is open to all children within the age range regardless of ability.

Q:  I would like my child to join, but transportation is a problem. Can you provide transportation for my child?

A: Yes, we can arrange transportation. Please email umusicacademy@gmail.com for more information.

Q: Do you have concerts?

A: We have 3 concerts per year – in December, March, and June.

Q: Can I check out a rehearsal for free before I commit to paying for classes?

A: Yes, please come visit us! Children are welcome to attend one rehearsal for free before committing to join. After that, we ask that you either pay for lessons or apply for a scholarship. We would like children to commit to at least one concert season, as it can be disruptive to have children come and go while preparing for a concert.

Q: I can’t find the answer to my question here.

A: Please leave a comment or email us at umusicacademy@gmail.com and we’ll be happy to answer any additional questions!
